Some Tips For A Football Run Through Banner

By Nita McKinney

Before a certain football game begins, especially in various college or high school events, it is usual for a particular team to make a football run through while entering the arena. It is often the responsibility of the cheerleaders and their mascots to hold it on both ends while the whole team is running their way through it. This is often an act that is done to intimidate and surprise the opponents and particularly, it brings along a certain design that is essential for them.

The mascot or the name of a certain team is often drawn in the banner. It will act as a symbol for them to reveal who they really are. Additional effects might be added by simply having each member sign in it. This will somehow represent a certain sense of pride and will tell the crowd who they are as a team.

An interesting and brilliant idea to be drawn in it would be the brick walls. It would represent a sense of conviction and strength that is crucial for all members to win a certain game. Drawing a couple of blocks may seem so repetitive, but if you put some more details into some dimensions of the block, it will heighten the efficiency and quality of creativity among the crowd.

A motto or quote could also be used to tell a particular sport or field in general. Select a quote that may bring your name. Pick the one that could have a certain effect on the crowd as a whole. Likewise, you may consider making different fonts for the letters with the colors of your represented team.

In making such, consider all the details that will be placed including the logo, graphics and wordings. The standard one is up to three meters wide and two meters high. Therefore, you will need a greater space in order to make it. Always remember that it should have the sufficient width to allow multiple players to pass through it at the same time.

Select a paper which is allowed for paint and markers and can easily tear off so that it would not interfere with the players that are passing through. Attach some poles on both sides of it so that it could be held easily. Wood, PVC and some heavy cardboard tubes are highly suggested and attach it using a heavy masking tape. Many would prefer using PVC because it is light in weight, durable and easily cleaned.

In choosing the paper that will be used, it will be best to buy many of such. This will be used to do some test runs to ensure that it will tear off easily. In case the paper would fail to tear, either the poles would fall into the path of the players as they run through, it could cause injuries.

Stretch it across an opening where the team will pass. The good places would be a gate or the entrance of the place where the game will be held. It should be held firmly to prevent its poles from being pulled inwards as the paper tears.

Avoid using a long strips of tape in the width of the football run through banner. It may block the players and they could not go over it. Leave some slit and flaps so that wind can easily blow to it or else, it would only look the same as a parachute as you unroll it in a windy field.
